When choosing an AI research tool for China A-shares, start with reproducibility rather than fluent prose: can another person follow its security identifier, reporting period, original source and formula to obtain the same result? One real annual report provides a useful first test. For Raytron's 2025 figures, consolidated net profit divided by revenue is approximately 15.72%, while profit attributable to owners of the parent divided by the same revenue is approximately 17.84%. The 2.12-percentage-point gap is not an arithmetic error. A tool that supplies an undefined “net margin” leaves the research question unresolved.[1]
This article offers six acceptance checks, not a product ranking based on unperformed comparative tests. They apply to AI equity-analysis tools, financial-report assistants, research workbenches and general-purpose chat tools used for research. AlphaGBM publishes this article; the product links at the end are links to our own service, not an independent endorsement.
Verification date: October 20, 2026, Asia/Shanghai (UTC+8). The financial sample covers January–December 2025 and comes from the annual-report file disclosed on CNINFO on April 10, 2026. It is not a real-time view of 2026 operations, trailing-twelve-month data or a stock quote. This exercise does not assess the stock's investment merits.
1. Identify the security, not just a familiar company name
Start with the legal issuer, exchange and security code. This example concerns 烟台睿创微纳技术股份有限公司, commonly known as Raytron, listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange's STAR Market under code 688002. The issuer identity and reporting year in the answer must match the original document.[1]
Ask the tool to put these identifiers at the beginning of its answer. Similar names, multiple listings or different share classes require clarification before combining financial figures, prices or currencies. The check is about identifying the correct research subject, not forcing every platform to use the same ticker suffix.
2. Separate the reporting period, disclosure date and retrieval date
“Retrieved today” does not mean “occurred today.” Reading a 2025 annual report again in October 2026 does not change its reporting period. A useful answer identifies the period covered, when the document was disclosed, when it was checked and whether later reports remain unverified.
This exercise tests the specified annual report; it does not claim to represent the latest complete financial picture at the retrieval date. Research into recent operating changes requires subsequent periodic reports. An annual number must not silently replace quarterly or trailing-twelve-month data.
3. Locate the original statement and preserve field definitions
The consolidated income statement on pages 142–143 of the original report gives the following 2025 amounts, all in Chinese yuan.[1]
| Original statement item | Amount (CNY) |
|---|---|
| Revenue | 6,304,144,284.93 |
| Consolidated net profit | 990,927,940.00 |
| Net profit attributable to owners of the parent | 1,124,625,217.01 |
| Profit or loss attributable to non-controlling interests | -133,697,277.01 |
“The company is profitable” or “profit was roughly CNY1.1 billion” cannot replace those definitions. Consolidated net profit and profit attributable to the parent's owners are different numerators. The parent company's separate income statement is also different from the consolidated statement. A reusable answer provides an accessible original document, page numbers, units and a clear mapping to the reported fields, rather than simply saying “according to public information.”
4. Reproduce the calculation and reconcile the difference
Using the disclosed amounts:
- Consolidated net profit divided by revenue: 990,927,940.00 ÷ 6,304,144,284.93 × 100%, approximately 15.72%.
- Profit attributable to owners of the parent divided by revenue: 1,124,625,217.01 ÷ 6,304,144,284.93 × 100%, approximately 17.84%.
- The difference is approximately 2.12 percentage points, not “2.12% growth.”
The underlying amounts reconcile exactly: 1,124,625,217.01 + (-133,697,277.01) = 990,927,940.00. Non-controlling interests have a loss in this statement, so profit attributable to owners of the parent exceeds consolidated net profit. That relationship does not, by itself, indicate a data error.
The purpose is not to insist that every analysis must use 15.72%. It is to make the numerator explicit, keep the denominator consistent and show the formula. Before comparing a column labelled “net margin” across companies, standardize its definition. Using consolidated profit for one issuer and attributable profit for another can turn an accounting-basis difference into a misleading claim about competitive strength. Neither ratio is the parent company's separate-company profit margin.
5. State what the evidence cannot establish
These calculations test extraction and definitions. On their own, they do not establish improving earnings quality, a larger contribution from a particular business or a future stock-price increase. Identifying the subsidiaries behind the non-controlling loss and assessing whether it persists would require further work on the notes; this example does not perform that analysis.
During a trial, ask: “What remains unverified, and what new evidence would change this answer?” Pause before relying on a tool that turns one ratio into a certain investment conclusion or fills data gaps with a complete-sounding narrative. An explicit unknown is more useful than an invented precise number.
6. Keep a research record that can be checked again
Save a compact research card containing security identity, period, source link and pages, raw amounts, formulas, conclusion and limitations. Use it to compare figures and conclusions on the next retrieval. If a tool has no export feature, a manual record still works. This is an evaluation method, not a claim that any particular product automatically supplies every feature.
Before trying or paying for a service, also check its current market coverage, data-update scope, login and membership requirements, usage allowances, and the privacy and usage terms governing uploaded files. One successful answer does not establish that every security or financial field has been validated.
A prompt you can use for a trial
Use only the consolidated income statement in Raytron's 2025 annual report (Shanghai Stock Exchange: 688002). List revenue, consolidated net profit, profit attributable to owners of the parent and profit or loss attributable to non-controlling interests. Provide the original document link, page numbers, period and units. Calculate both profit-to-revenue ratios and reconcile the profit attribution. Do not mix in the parent's separate statements, subsequent quarters or stock prices. Mark any field you cannot verify.
Compare the answer with the four disclosed amounts and three calculations above. That gives you a repeatable small test, not a comprehensive product evaluation. Other companies, reporting periods and abnormal data require their own tests.
